  • everything else in this lens is perfect but the front focusing tendency
  • estimated retail price 420 EUR
  • in my use from 11/2008 to current date
  • replaced my worn out Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
  • excellent image quality (all you get with Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM and then some more)
  • very pleasing transition from in-focus areas to out-of-focus areas (indicates a brilliant optical formula)
  • clearly the best bokeh I've ever seen on a 50 mm lens
  • better bokeh than many longer focal length lenses
  • can be pushed to f/1.4 with ease
  • an extremely well built metal body lens with the feel of high quality
  • has a constant front focusing tendency especially at close focusing distances (even after the lens was checked by the Finnish importer Foka)
  • large for a 50 mm prime
  • heavy for a 50 mm prime
