Facts

  • was introduced back in 1987 so is a real classic in the Canon EF lens lineup
  • estimated retail price 240 EUR
  • in my use from 2/2006 to 5/2007
  • sharpness was not up to today's standards

Pros

  • the image quality is generally good except the sharpness
  • has a rather fast autofocus despite the fact that is not an USM
  • easily recognizable AF motor sound
  • very small

Cons

  • could be sharper especially wide open (a f/2.8 prime should perform better wide open)
