- currently the most used and the most useful lens in my bag
Pros
- very pleasing image quality
- instead of being just a macro lens works as well as a general-purpose lens
- super sharp making Canon EF 135mm f/2.0 L USM and Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 L II USM look soft
- IS works well and helps indoors
- auto focus hit accuracy is the best I've seen with any lens
- very lightweight for a Canon L series lens
Cons
- is exaggeratedly sharp on details: you might need to soften the photos to make them look more realistic
- appears to be mostly plastic which used to be unheard of in Canon L series
- would be even nicer if the maximum aperture was f/2.0 (yes I'm asking too much)
