Written in 2005, latest update 2010.

If you are into serious photography, the first things you need are a camera body and one or more lenses. But in addition to these there are many things that are needed or come handy. Here are non-conclusive lists of things that I use or have used.

Written in 2012.

I have a set of Kenko extension tubes to be used with my EF/EOS lenses. These tubes do have EF electronics coupling so the camera will at least try to focus automatically. These same tubes are available under different brands.

Written in 2009.

Lowepro Magnum AW used to be my primary camera back. But my equipment got bigger and I could not fit them into the bag anymore so I switched to Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650 AW. Today Lowepro Magnum AW is my secondary back that I use to store some of my idle equipment. And sometimes when I have only a small amount of stuff to be I go back using it.

Written in 2010.

I switched the focusing screen of my Canon EOS 1D Mark III in order to make it easier to focus manually. I have used various manual focus lenses and all the help for that is welcome. The Canon Ec-S fosucing screen makes it a little easier to use manual focusing. The con is that it makes the viewfinder darker. Changing the screen was easy (clear instructions were provided) and currently keep Canon Ec-S screen on all the time instead of the standard screen.

Lowepro Nature Trekker AW II is my current primary camera bagpack. I mostly use Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650 AW but sometimes I have a need for a bagpack. The construction of Lowepro Nature Trekker AW II is very stury and in my use it will probably last forever. However the capacity is somewhat smaller than with

Written in 2007, latest update 2011.

Seculine Zigview S2 was a nice addition to my camera bag. It consisted of a small camera that attached to the viewfinder of an SLR and then after a cord there was a small LCD screen to display the viewfinder image. The pros were that Seculine Zigview S2 worked as expected and was handy when trying to lower my shooting position. The con was rather short battery lifetime. What could have been handy too would be an extension cord to the cam…

Written in 2007.

Canon Angle Finder C was the thing that I expected to revolutionize my shooting style. I was expecting it to be very easy to shoot from lower positions with it. Actually it didn't help much. I think this is because it is not flexible: you can't change the angle. In practical action photography you will soon find yourself returning back to the standard shooting position and putting Canon Angle Finder C back to your bag. Currently I have not much use for it.

Marumi Digital Pro Aircell is my current camera strap used with Canon EOS 1D Mark III. It is an excellent camera strap regarding the comfort. Upgrading your camera strap from the standard strap increases your satisfaction more than you might think. Personally I'll never downgrade back to the original strap.
