Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di VC USD
Review of Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di VC USD telephoto zoom lens. Review created 2014.
Facts
- very usable telephoto zoom lens for outdoor use when there is plenty of light
- in my use from 6/2014 to current date
- estimated retail price 340 EUR
Pros
- reasonably priced
- really sharp when stopped down to f/8.0
- focusing is quite fast, faster than with typical budget zooms but slower than with my speediest primes
- not too heavy - I can shoot with this for hours without feeling any fatigue
- nice image stabilization
Cons
- heavy vignetting on a full frame body to the extend that the evaluative exposure mode overexposures the center
- must be stopped down to increase sharpness and to fight the vignetting making this lens outdoors only
